WHAT TO EXPECT

Dark Horse Chiropractic and Performance is not like the majority of chiropractic offices.

Conveniently located inside Lake Washington CrossFit gym in Kirkland, we are able to better assess, manage and treat sports injuries with exercises not normally performed in the average chiropractic office.

The fact is, many chiropractic offices offer 5 minute routine visits, see multiple patients at once and do not deep dive into exercises.

This is not the model of our office.

We decided that patients deserve more. By taking an approach to address patient concerns that include not just chiropractic adjustments, but also intentional exercise progressions (or regressions), we give patients a more complete package of care.

Improving patient outcomes (e.g.: pain, range of motion) in the office is important. Being able to demonstrate that patients have control of their progress is more important. Creating an environment where patients feel like they are able to take their care into their hands through confident movement and competency is the top priority for us.

The catch is that more work and dedication is required from the patient.

In our office, it is not abnormal to break a sweat. As treatment progresses, exercises increase in difficulty. This is a necessary part of treatment to facilitate growth. Adequate stimulation is needed for adaptation. This is not only true when trying to build muscle or get stronger, but also with injury rehab.

We also firmly believe that basic movements are king. Though there may be movement variability to accommodate for pain or any other restriction, it is not abnormal to do the same movement pattern, or some version of it, for consecutive visits. Building this repetition is not important just for getting stronger, but also tracking patient progress, in addition to other specified outcome markers.
